As the clock struck midnight and the calendar turned to April 16th, AT&T has officially become the first US carrier to open pre-orders for the Galaxy S 4. AT&T is offering the 16GB variant in White Frost or Black Mist in select areas for $199 with a two-year agreement. According to AT&T’s order page, the devices will ship on April 30th and hopefully arrive a day or two later. A SIM-free version of the Galaxy S 4 will set you back a hefty $639 but keep you free and clear of any contracts.
AT&T hasn’t announced anything official this morning for the start of the pre-order process, likely in the hopes avoiding a storm of early pre-orders crashing the process and the 32GB version is nowhere to be found. We can hope that AT&T will open pre-orders for the larger size sometime in the next few days.
At the time of this writing, there appears to be some trouble with the ordering process, so keep trying to get your orders in. Never give up, never surrender.
