We really never thought this day would come, but it has. Multiple Motorola phones now have their bootloader unofficially unlocked, by way of a new tool made by Dan Rosenberg. The tool will unlock the bootloader of the Motorola RAZR HD, RAZR MAXX HD, RAZR M, and Atrix HD. This only applies to these four phones; other phones, especially OMAP based phones, are not supported and you should not try them.
The bootloader tool is fairly simple. You have to be rooted, which means that for some phones, you’ll have to be on ICS (Jelly Bean doesn’t have a root method in some cases). You also have to have USB Debugging on, along with all proper USB drivers installed. Then just run the file inside and it should unlock the bootloader.
Of course, unlocking the bootloader will void your warranty completely, with no way to relock bootloaders. So perform this at your own risk, as it could be fairly dangerous. We don’t take any responsibility for your actions. However, if you have been waiting a long time to start modding, this may be your chance. Hit the source link to download the files and see the instructions. And if you want more info on the exploit, hit the second source link.
