Google Babel Screenshots Leak, Could Be Real

There have been many rumors of Babel going around, and there have even been sightings of the name. However, we now have leaked screenshots of the web interface of Babel. And while we can’t say if they’re real or fake (until there is an official announcement, no one can), they sure look convincing.

As you can tell, the new shots line up with what Babel is said to look like in Chrome OS (from the Chromium bug tracker). Aside from the header, they are identical, despite coming from two sources. The rest of the images are also convincing, with absolutely nothing wrong with them.

It looks very good to us. If it’s a true unification across all their services, we’ll be happy. Plus the addition of chat bubbles really smooths things out. We can’t wait to try it out for ourselves, since we like to use GTalk quite a lot. Plus, with that little camera icon to the side, it seems that you can share photos with it (finally). However, it seems smileys play a big role in this service, and I am not sure if I like that. Are you guys excited for this?
