Do you live and breathe all things Facebook? Do you find yourself skipping work to play on Facebook all day? Well, maybe your love for Facebook isn’t that deep but if you do keep Facebook as the center of your social media world, Facebook Home and the HTC First may just the smartphone the doctor ordered.
The very first device running Facebook home, the HTC First carries a low-price tag of just $99 with a two-year agreement. Calling the HTC First a mid-range device may be “ok” on paper, with a 4.3″ 720p display, 1.4GHz dual-core Snapdragon 400 processor, 1GB RAM and a 5 megapixel camera. It’s true those aren’t jaw-dropping specs when compared to the HTC One or Galaxy S 4, but powering Facebook home doesn’t require all the muscle the Galaxy S 4 can bring to bear. We wouldn’t mind an improved shooter on the back of the device, at the very least the First should have one of the best smartphone cameras to do date given how important uploading pictures is to Facebook users.
Still, this phone is all about marketing, Facebook and staying connected. Facebook Home is your phone and your phone is Facebook Home with FB updates, Cover Feed, Chat Heads messaging and more. Fear not if you want to have more than just Facebook on your phone as the launcher allows you to display and run your full complement of installed apps.
