New Google Play Design Begins Rolling Out To Devices, Offers Up New Content Discovery And Simplified Purchasing

Google is beginning to roll out its new, cleaner, Google Play store.  The new Play Store 4.0 focuses on larger images and consistent color usage based on topic.  It is now easier to quickly identify the content you are looking for and explore the options within that category. The purchase process has also been streamlined, providing you a quicker way to start using the content purchased. All in all, it’s a much better looking Play Store that drops the “dark” look of the former Play Store and breathes new life into the Play Store with a card-based look.

The new design focuses on bigger images that jump off the page. Similarly themed content is grouped together so you can hone in on a magazine to read or an app to try. As you move down the page, new recommendations continue to appear so there is always more to see and explore. We’ve also simplified purchasing so you can breeze through checkout and get to enjoying your movie rental or other content.

This new and improved Google Play store begins rolling out to Android 2.2 smartphones and tablets today, with worldwide availability coming over the next few weeks. What do you guys think, is this a better, faster, sexier Google Play?
