Verizon has announced another mid range phone for their lineup. I personally love mid range devices, if they excel for their price, so I’m excited to see what Pantech has to offer with the Perception. The Perception comes with a 4.8 inch HD Super AMOLED display, which is pretty impressive for a mid range phone. It also has an 8MP rear camera, 2MP front camera, 16GB of internal storage, 4G LTE, and of course Ice Cream Sandwich. Sure, they say it’ll be upgraded to Jelly Bean soon, but launching with a 1.5 year old version of Android is pretty ridiculous.
It’ll also have something called Motion Sense, which will detect motions above the phone. It’ll allow you to wave your hand over the device to perform actions like answering calls, scrolling, and more. Sound familiar? We won’t call Pantech out for it though, as they probably had this feature in development for a while.
For $99.99 on contract after a $50 mail in rebate, it seems like a pretty solid device. We hope to get more specs soon, like processor and battery size, but until then, we will wait. The device comes out on April 25th both in stores and online, so you can buy one then. Would you consider this device?
