If you’re an avid Facebook user, or just want to try something new, Facebook Home is coming out tomorrow! A launcher and lockscreen that combine the usability of a launcher with your social feed displayed as a background. It also includes a unique way to message others called Chat Heads. Read this article for an explanation of how it works!
Many of you stated in our poll that you’re interested in trying it out. At launch, it’ll run on Samsung Galaxy S III, Galaxy S 4, Galaxy Note II, HTC One, HTC One X, and HTC One X+, according to Facebook. Every month, there will be an update that adds functionality and compatibility, so your phone might soon be supported! We’ll let you know when the app is released, so stay tuned!
Also coming out is the HTC First, the first Facebook phone with actual Facebook software instead of just an extra button. The First will feature a Snapdragon 400 processor, a 4.3″ 720p display, a 5MP camera, and fully stock Android with Facebook Home on top. Disable Facebook Home (which will most likely be possible on the final devices), and you get a mostly AOSP phone! It’ll retail for $99.99 on contract exclusively for AT&T, so if you’re interested in a nice, mid end device, AT&T has you covered!
Keep an eye on DroidDog for the announcements and links so you can partake in either Facebook Home or the HTC First.
