Google I/O is only a couple short weeks away and information about possible announcements are starting to flow. The latest tidbit is that Samsung Google will be announcing a new 11″ Nexus tablet. While the device is yet to be confirmed, here are the rumored specs:
- Samsung 8-core Exynos 5410 chip
- At least a 1920×1080 Super PLS TFT screen
- 8MP rear camera and 2MP front-facing camera
- microSD card slot
There also seems to be the rumor that Samsung will use the Nexus 11 as a base to make a Galaxy Tab 11, which will bump the octa core processor down to a dual core Exynos 5, like the Nexus 10 came with. This will ship with Samsung’s TouchWiz interface instead of stock Android that graces each Nexus device.
Having an 11″ Nexus option seems extraneous. The more they inch up in size, the closer they are to a full-blown laptop. Personally, I’d rather spend a couple hundred more and get a full blown 13″ laptop, rather than purchasing a large tablet and needing an additional keyboard to maximize efficiency.
