If you’ve spent time looking for a love-child of the Galaxy Note II and Galaxy Note 10.1, the Galaxy Note 8.0 has finally arrived. The mid-sized tablet was first announced at Mobile World Congress this past February and will finally hit US shores on April 11th for $399.
Samsung won’t wow you with specs, but the combination of a 1.6GHz quad-core processor, 8″ WXGA 1280×800 display, 2GB of RAM, 4600mAh battery, 5 megapixel rear camera, Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean, and S Pen functionality will undoubtedly please a number of Samsung tablet fans. Unfortunately, Samsung removed the cellular radios for the US release meaning you’ll be choosing from a Wi-Fi only variant.
The Note 8.0 will be available from all the usual third-party retailers including Best Buy, Amazon, Newegg, Staples, etc. Buyers will also receive 50GB of free Dropbox storage for two years, and a $25 Google Play credit with their purchase when registering your device.
Samsung says that accessories for the Note 8.0, which include book covers in several different color options along with USB and HDMI adapters will be available for purchase in mid-April.
