With little explanation provided, both Sprint and T-Mobile announced in the last 12 hours that their respective releases of the Galaxy S 4 were being postponed. Late last night T-Mobile (via our friends at TmoNews) began stating via its Facebook page that the release was being pushed back. A few hours later saw word drop via a short press statement that indicated T-Mobile was officially pushing back the launch until April 29th.
We know customers are really looking forward to getting their new Samsung Galaxy S 4 soon. However, due to an unexpected delay with inventory deliveries, the Galaxy S 4 will not be available on www.T-Mobile.com as planned on Wednesday, April 24. Instead, online availability is expected to begin on Monday, April 29. We apologize for any inconvenience and are working with Samsung to deliver the device to T-Mobile customers as soon as possible.
Sprint followed suit this morning with a similar announcement indicating its release was being pushed back as well. Sprint had expected to release the device through all channels on Saturday, April 27th but this morning announced availability on Saturday would only be for online and telesales ordering. Sprint cited “unforeseen inventory problems” as the cause for the delay.
AT&T and Verizon have yet to indicate any of the same troubles, but we’re now watching out like a hawk for any similar announcements from the nations two largest carriers.
