Call it a mother’s day celebration for Barnes and Noble as the company slashes prices on their Nook HD and HD+ tablets for mother’s day. The price drop happens just a days after BN announced that their Nook HD tablets were going all official like with the introduction of Google’s Play Store. With users of bother devices now having access to the entire gauntlet of the Android ecosystem and combined with the new price drop, Barnes and Noble has suddenly found itself with two very enticing tablets.
The $50 price cut on the Nook HD from $199 to $149 and $90 price drop on the Nook HD+ from $269 to $179 is good through May 12th. The Nook HD features a 1.3GHz TI OMAP 4470 processor, 1GB of RAM,1440×900 display and 8GB of internal memory. The Nook HD+ features a 1920×1280 display, 1.5GHz TI OMAP 4470 processor, 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory. Both devices sport Android 4.0.
Pricing is good in store and online through barnesandnobile.com, the deal only lasts through May 12th so don’t spend too much time thinking about whether or not this tablet is right for you. The introduction of Google’s Play Store just added 100x the value here with these tablets and we’d urge taking a long look at them compared to Amazon’s Kindle Fire series.
