The friends from SamMobile leaked some interesting information Friday morning bringing use an image and specs for a purported Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8.0. If you recall, Samsung recently made official the Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 with specs that we were less than excited about. For what it’s worth, benchmarking has demonstrated that this new Tab 3 7.0 is bringing significant improvements over its predecessor, but it still seems sub-par in other areas to today’s standards. As for this newly leaked 8″ tablet, we do see some improved specs over the Tab 3 7.0, but it’s not much compared to it’s Galaxy Note 8.0 cousin so we’re still expecting a relatively reasonable price tag. Here are the specs as leaked from SamMoblie:
Galaxy Tab 3 8.0

Some things to point out, the image we have above is a render and is missing the speaker grill belonging to the Tab 3 7.0. This Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 will supposedly be released running the most recent version of Android, 4.2.2. It will also come in two flavors, WiFi only and 3G. This device again, unlike it’s predecessors with the proprietary charging adapter, has a micro USB port which is really convenient. Last, it’s also said to be 6.96 mm thin, which is thinner than the iPad mini, a device I already find surprisingly thin.
So is this Samsung making sure to hit all the markets with tablets? It’s seems like they may have a device for any budget out there. They obviously seem pretty darn committed to the tablet game. What are your thoughts on this device? Weird to have a 7.0 and 8.0 tab 3? Think it’s bogus? Let us know your thoughts by commenting below.
