Samsung’s Premiere 2013 event is in less than a month, and a lot of us are wondering what they’ll be showing off. The June 20th event was teased to have new Galaxy and ATIV devices, but the Galaxy devices are our focus. It was recently said that the Galaxy S 4 Mini would show up at the event, but currently that’s unconfirmed. But according to a new rumor, we might see two other devices there.
The Galaxy S 4 Active and the Galaxy S 4 Zoom are set to debut at the show, according to a new source. We wouldn’t be surprised, but we aren’t quite sure either. However, we’d love to see these two devices debut at the event. And best of all, they have leaked all the specs for the two devices.
The Galaxy S 4 Active will be fully protected against water and dust, and will feature similar specs to the original Galaxy S 4. It has a 5 inch full HD Super AMOLED display, a quad core Snapdragon 600, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of memory with a microSD card slot, a 2,600 mAh battery, and the standard arrangement of connections, including 4G LTE. However, where it differs from the original is in the camera: the rear facing camera was downgraded to an 8MP sensor.
The Galaxy S 4 Zoom is more akin to the Galaxy S 4 Mini, with a 4.3 inch qHD Super AMOLED display, the 1.6GHz dual core, and general aesthetics (according to the source). But the star of the show is the 16 megapixel sensor with 10x optical zoom. That should make for an interesting design. Other specs include a 1.9MP front facing camera, 8GB of storage with a microSD slot, a 1,900 mAh battery, and 3G with no LTE support.
We’re excited to see both devices on June 20th, so we hope these rumors are legitimate. The Galaxy S 4 Active should be a great phone for the… active. And clumsy. And the Galaxy S 4 Zoom might be a cool phone for photographers who don’t need a great device (though the lower end specs make no sense to me). What would you like to see at the Samsung Premiere event?
