Samsung and ASUS announced their fair share of tablets yesterday and Toshiba decided to join in with the fun as well. At Computex 2013, they revealed three new tablets in their Excite line that are dubbed the Excite Pure, the Excite Pro, and the Excite Write. And thanks to our friends over at PhoneDog, we have the specs of all three compiled into a handy list:
- Excite Pure: 10.1-inch 1280×800 display, quad-core Tegra 3 processor, 3-megapixel rear-facing shooter, 16GB storage, microSD card slot, micro-HDMI, 1GB RAM, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, and a $299.99 price tag
- Excite Pro: 10.1-inch 2560×1600 screen, quad-core Tegra 4 processor, 8-megapixel rear camera, 1.2-megapixel front-facing shooter, Harmon Kardon speakers, 32GB storage, microSD slot, 2GB RAM, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, priced at $499.99
- Excite Write: 10.1-inch 2560×1600 display, 8-megapixel rear and 1.2-megapixel front shooters, quad-core Tegra 4 chip, 32GB storage, microSD slot, 2GB RAM, Harmon Kardon speakers, Wacom digitizer that will work with the bundled TruNote and TruCapture notetaking apps, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, $599.99 price tag
As you can see, these new tablets are certainly a vast improvement over Toshiba’s previous offerings and they also target different parts of the market. The Excite Pure is aimed at people who want a decent 10″ tablet at a low price point while the Excite Pro and Excite Write are aiming to compete with other high-end Android tablets. The Excite Write obviously goes toe-to-toe against Samsung’s Note lineup of tablets. If they can market these right, they certainly have a chance of gaining some ground in the tablet market. What do you guys think about these new tablets?
