Motorola Admiral [Sprint] review by Breon

A couple of weeks ago, I received a Motorola Admiral for Sprint.  While I’m typically not a QWERTY keyboard fan –certainly not a candy bar QWERTY phone– I am pleasantly surprised with this device.  It has a good form factor and ready for the rugged lifestyle. The Admiral sports a 1.2 GHz processor and has 4 GB of on-board storage (about 1.3 GB… Read more

Samsung Stratosphere for Verizon review by Breon

Surrounded by the DROID RAZR, HTC Rezound, and DROID Bionic releases, the Samsung Stratosphere may have been lost in the shuffle a bit.  Heck, if you Google Samsung Stratosphere Verizon Wireless, the official Verizon results are two-thirds of the way down the page.  Don’t let that fool you; The Stratosphere is a great mid-tier device AND it is packing… Read more

24 Hours with the Samsung Galaxy Nexus for Verizon

It was a rainy Wednesday evening in Minneapolis.  My Verizon contact was racing through the swarming, downtown, rush hour traffic.  She comes to a sliding halt, the wrong way on a one-way street.  I approach.  The package is transferred.  She whips around and speeds off.  The Nexus is mine. Ok…it might not have been that dramatic.  It was… Read more

Can you believe that it’s been almost one year, to the day, since I’ve posted on DroidDog?  I can’t.  It’s been far too long, but I’m back and with a vengeance.  I have a plethora of devices to review for y’all.  Eight in total.  Here’s the list: Motorola DROID RAZR (including Laptop Dock and Premium HDMI Dock) HTC Rezound (including MHL/HDMI… Read more

Samsung Galaxy Tab [Verizon]; The good, bad and ugly

Hey gang.  Breon here.  I’m going to drop a quick review for the Samsung Galaxy Tab…the Verizon flavor.  This won’t be a full on review, but I’ll give you what I think is the good, the bad and the ugly.  Peep John’s Galaxy Tab video here. Let me start by saying, I do believe that there is a place for tablets in our gadget collection.  Well, in… Read more

Breon’s experience with Verizon Wireless 4G LTE

Last Wednesday, shortly after the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE conference call, I was presented with an LG 4G modem and a Windows laptop (more on that later).  It was like Christmas came a little early for me.  Since Wednesday, I’ve been using the modem as much as I can.  I’ve also been preforming tons speed tests (via speedtest.net).  In the past, I’ve… Read more

Live at a Verizon Wireless LTE event [Update]

I was recently invited to a Verizon Wireless LTE event.  The primary focus of the event is to introduce business partners to the advantages and features of Verizon’s forthcoming 4G network.  I’ll be pseudo live tweeting from the event (a.k.a. updating this post).  Keep refreshing this post for more info. Unfortunately, there will be no live demo devices… Read more

Breon’s Samsung Fascinate Galaxy S [Verizon] written review

http://www.droiddog.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/DSC_3185.png

…finally, the Samsung Fascinate. A few months ago, Samsung held a big press event for the Galaxy S series of phones.  Three, of the “Big 4″,  carriers had already announced their Galaxy S plans.  Sprint was going to rock out with the 4G capable, slider QWERTY Epic 4G, TMo had already announced the Vibrant, and AT&T was sporting the Captivate…. DROID 2 [Verizon] preview and initial thoughts

As the rumored DROID 2 launch date drew closer, I knew I’d eventually get the standard issue DM of “come get a phone”. Like clockwork, I received said DM yesterday morning. I said it on twitter, and I’ll say it again; If the DROID X and the original DROID made a baby, it’s name would be DROID 2.  This is the first Android phone to be a true… Read more
