Droid hunters alert! If you are in NYC, go to N 40 45.173 W 74 00.599 to find Droid X designate #4
The folks behind DroidLanding offered several hints leading up to the coordinate tweet so people in the area could prepare by calling in sick to work, taking a good restroom break, and putting on their comfy walking shoes. So pay attention to their tweetstream, and look for hints that could be referring to your city. People are actually earning some prizes now:
The first thing I need to say here is thank you, readers, for your patience regarding DroidDog’s recent server troubles. If you are a regular visitor to the site, there’s a good chance you’ve come across an error while browsing our pages in the last few months; most likely indicating a problem establishing a database connection. Or, you’ve seen the “no suitable nodes” grey screen of sorrow. Chances are you’ve noticed these errors have been popping up with increasing regularity over the last several weeks. We appreciate your coming back to see our latest Android content and how things are progressing with the site. I also want to thank all of our editors who have struggled with database errors and non-responsiveness when adding and editing posts. Growth is a difficult process and the pains are not fun. At times, the problems have been downright frustrating.
These bumps in the road, as unpleasant as they may be, are a result of the continual success of PhoneDog’s family of sites, so another big shout out to the readers who are making them popular. We have a lot of great things planned for you in the near future and our new servers are ready to rock and bear the additional weight of the new audience members sure to come along. New types of content are on the way, along with some other noticeable changes throughout the site. So stick with us throughout the Summer for more videos, more editorial pieces, more hands on reviews, more questions and requests, more DroidWars, and… more free phones. It’s going to be an eventful season.
Take care.
(Extreme gratitude to those behind the scenes who made this transition occur!)
Have you ever wanted to buy something but the price doesn’t seem worth the results? Have you ever been MEANING to buy something but just never got around to it? Could this thing perhaps be the Nexus One desktop dock? Well you’re in luck – I happen to be giving away my desktop dock!
Let me just clarify that I am not giving this product away because it is in any way not to my liking. I recently bought the Seidio Innocase II and I don’t plan on taking it off anytime soon, but this means that my Nexus One can’t fit into the dock. So instead of selling it on Ebay or something like that, I thought it would be cool to give it to one of the loyal DroidDog readers!
This giveaway is open to the entire world and will go on until June 9th, 2010 (giving you a week to tweet). You may tweet as many times as you would like to. I will be selecting the winner via http://twitrand.com/ just like my last giveaway (the extended battery).
Let’s all be honest with ourselves… unless you have some sort of crazy magic powers, you want longer battery life for your phone. Our very own Carlos Graves has done a Mugen Power Nexus One extended battery review (from WirelessGround.com) and guess what? He’s giving it away!! Listen closely to the video and read EVERYTHING posted below.
- You have to tweet the following “#N1BatteryGiveaway”, nothing more, nothing less.
- You have to live on planet Earth (AKA, you can be anywhere in the world and participate)
- Must be entered BEFORE June 1st. No later!
Rules:
A winner will be chosen and contacted on the 06/ 01/10. If they do not respond in 24 hours, another will be chosen. By entering, the winner agrees to provide us with a photo of their face, which will be posted on DroidDog.com when we announce the results of the giveaway. We will also share their first name, last initial, and city of residence. Don’t enter if you can’t agree to this.
We will ship to anyplace on Earth but once the battery leaves our hands, we are relieved of all responsibility. This is a giveaway, so the item will be described as a gift if the winner is from another country. However, if there are fees, taxes, significant delays, etc., that’s your business. We will cover shipping with the standard insurance, that’s it.
No one at DroidDog, PhoneDog, or anyone else can be held liable for any hassles, bodily injury, financial loss, or any other undesirable outcomes this giveaway may result in for you. No scams, lawsuits, or other shenanigans will be considered valid. By entering yourself in the giveaway, you agree not to do anything ridiculous. Void where prohibited, local laws are your responsibility.
If it isn’t here, it isn’t a rule. Anyone who interprets that as an invitation to annoy us with loopholes will be disqualified.
