Google I/O Android Sessions

Google I/O is just around the corner and there is certainly a lot of buzz around mobile and Android.  Each day has a full track dedicated to Android and there are two Fireside Chats specifically targeting our little green buddy.  The sessions range from beginner to advanced, with three sessions still “TBA”.  I’d be willing to bet that these are reserved… Read more

Google I/O attendees to get phones before conference

Last year, coders went to Google’s I/O not really expecting to receive anything and were suprized with their very own Ion. This year, Google is mixing things up a bit – in part, to speed up the check in process – by sending out Droids and Nexus Ones ahead of time. Devlopers do not have a choice about which phone they will get, but it will allow them to… Read more

More EVO hands on time at CTIA

If the PhoneDog EVO video I posted yesterday wasn’t enough for you, check out this one that Noah and Aaron shot as the convention center was being shut down. This phone is full of wow: it’s a mobile router/hotspot for eight devices, can output HDMI, has dual cameras, and rocks pretty much everywhere that 99.9% of phones don’t. And in my personal opinion,… Read more

Dell Mini 5 demo from CTIA

Some folks from TheStreet are at CTIA and caught a video demonstration of Dell’s Mini 5 (as it is known on the Internet). The quad-band GSM and WCDMA device to output 720p video over HDMI. Nice. It looks like the PR rep and cameraman from TheStreet are having a tug-o’-war. I think Dell kept the gadget though. Video after the break…. Read more

CTIA: Kyocera Zio hands on

We told you yesterday about Kyocera’s budget entry into the Android game, and Aaron from PhoneDog got some demo time with the device, which will sell for around $200 and packs a 480 x 800 display and 600 MHz Qualcomm pocessor. Via PhoneDog… Read more

CTIA: HTC Supersonic is the EVO 4G

What could be one of the most significant, if not monstrous, Androids to date will be launching this Summer on Sprint’s 4G network. The device, which looks more than a little bit like HTC’s HD2, is the first to utilize the carrier’s WiMAX to keep you in touch. To be more specific, calls will be made via CDMA and data will transfer via EV-DO / WiMAX. We’re… Read more

CTIA: Samsung Galaxy S

Samsung has unveiled (apparently through some bizarre play) their latest Android, the Galaxy S. The phone marks a turnpoint in Samsung’s direction, featuring a 4″ super AMOLED display and a 1GHz processor – reportedly the new standard for Samsung smart phones. The device has a 5 MP primary camera with autofocus, a front-facing VGA cam, a 15 mAh battery,… Read more

Inbrics M1 on video at CES

I can’t exactly say that I stand corrected because I never explicitly stated that the Inbrics M1 would not be found at CES. I just pointed out that one of the company’s promotional videos seemed to be intentionally vague and ambiguous about the most fundamental aspects of their QWERTY-packing Android slider. While I didn’t get a chance to go hands on… Read more
