I can’t exactly say that I stand corrected because I never explicitly stated that the Inbrics M1 would not be found at CES. I just pointed out that one of the company’s promotional videos seemed to be intentionally vague and ambiguous about the most fundamental aspects of their QWERTY-packing Android slider.
While I didn’t get a chance to go hands on with the M1 last week in Vegas, I am glad to report that Engadget did get an up-close look at the device, which features a 3.7″ WVGA AMOLED display, 3 MP, a secondary VGA camera, and 16 Gigs of internal storage. Check it out in the video below. Nifty dock Inbrics has on the home screen there.
Pocket Lint was at CES and got a quick video of a microwave running Android. We’ve been talking about Android appliances for some time, but it seems that we are finally beginning to see some practical applications of the concept.
Not practical, you say? As is mentioned at the end of the video below, Android could fetch the recommended microwave time and power level for reheating some cheese baked mussels instantly and would likely produce a far greater result than you would achieve just tapping the “reheat” preset on your current nuke box.
As the news from CES rolls in, we catch sightings of more and more things we never knew we would see, like an Xperia X10 Mini. The Robyn (codename), is shaping up to be quite the power-house with WLAN, HSPA, 3.5MM audio jack, and 5MP auto focus camera. I think I speak for everyone when I say I really wanna see what this little guy is all about. We can’t even get a NA release date for the X10 and now this!? Patience, patience. I’m glad Sony Ericsson is showing Android some love, “Compact and clever” indeed. Hopefully we will have more info on the Robyn soon.
What have we here, an HP Mini look alike running Android? With a resistive 10 inch touch screen being powered by a Snapdragon? Nice. Not much else is known about this mysterious HP Mini prototype but if it’s running Android call me good to go. You can find a couple more pictures here, as well as video before too long.
Co-CEO of Motorola, Sanjay Jha, has given the mobile world another big dose of Android joy by officially announcing the Motorola Backflip and letting everyone know the Droid / Cliq will see Android 2.1 as soon as possible.
AT&T users should get ready (but not too ready) for what could possibly be their very first Android phone, the Motorola Backflip. We don’t have a heaping pile of info on the Backflip, but we do know that it will use MotoBlur UI, come with wifi, a 5MP camera, and sports that oh-so-crazy physical appearance that only a mother could love. If you need a little something to hold you over, head to Engadget where they have a Backflip hands on post with some good pictures and a short but sweet video for your viewing pleasure.
Other than the Backflip and the announcement of Flash 10.1 hitting the Droid (which we already got a taste of on the Nexus One), Motorola has also graced us with the comfort of knowing that the Cliq and Droid will both live to see Android 2.1. What else could you ask for?
