Following up on their success with the Hero Milestone and Backflip Androids, Canadian carrier Telus will be launching the Triumph (also known as Desire) in July or August, according to MobileSyrup. Packing all of the features and specs of Desire, including 3.7″ 480 x 800 WVGA capacitive display, 1GHz Snapdragon processor, and Android 2.1 with Sense, this bad boy makes a fine next gen addition to Telus’ existing line-up. Pricing and availability have not been disclosed.

Today, HTC filed a complaint with the International Trade Commission claiming that Apple is infringing on five of their patents.  They have asked the ITC to stop the sale of iPhones, iPads and iPods in the US.  Frankly, I had a feeling this was coming.  You may remember that HTC and Microsoft recently signed a patent agreement.  HTC may use this alliance to back their new claim against Apple.

Seattle – May 12, 2010 – HTC Corporation today took legal action against Apple Inc., filing a complaint with the United States International Trade Commission (ITC) to halt the importation and sale of the iPhone, iPad and iPod in the United States.

“As the innovator of the original Windows Mobile PocketPC Phone Edition in 2002 and the first Android smartphone in 2008, HTC believes the industry should be driven by healthy competition and innovation that offer consumers the best, most accessible mobile experiences possible,” said Jason Mackenzie, vice president of North America, HTC Corporation. “We are taking this action against Apple to protect our intellectual property, our industry partners, and most importantly our customers that use HTC phones.”

My favorite handset manufacturer recently uploaded a short video titled “The Quietly Brilliant Story of HTC”.  I knew that HTC has been around for awhile, but I didn’t know that they were behind some of the popular, early PDAs and smartphones.  It’s good to see them in the spotlight, rather than behind the scenes (no pun intended).

Congratulations to Michael M. from The Bronx for winning a brand new HTC Incredible for Verizon Wireless!

This was DroidDog’s first giveaway based on what all of you wrote. With over 500 entries, I found it difficult to narrow it down to 25. Choosing the top ten was hard. Selecting a single winner was a serious challenge. There were so many good stories, jokes, and poems that I wanted at least five of you to win. But with only one prize to give away, I’m happy to know that Michael is getting the HTC Incredible. He really deserves it and this comes at a good time for him – right after a birthday and graduation!

I have been waiting for this one for some time, and I’m very happy to say that I have an Incredible in my possession.
