Motorola Admiral [Sprint] review by Breon
A couple of weeks ago, I received a Motorola Admiral for Sprint. While I'm typically not a QWERTY keyboard fan --certainly not a candy bar QWERTY phone-- I am pleasantly surprised with this device. It has a good form factor and ready for the rugged lifestyle. The Admiral sports a 1.2 GHz processor and has 4 GB of on-board storage (about 1.3 GB available to the... Surrounded by the DROID RAZR, HTC Rezound, and DROID Bionic releases, the Samsung Stratosphere may have been lost in the shuffle a bit. Heck, if you Google Samsung Stratosphere Verizon Wireless, the official Verizon results are two-thirds of the way down the page. Don't let that fool you; The Stratosphere is a great mid-tier device AND it is packing Verizon 4G... Read more » Is Blind Type behind Ice Cream Sandwiches new keyboard?
You probably remember Blind Type. A while ago they showed off a video of their keyboard technology which was said to be so good you could type blind. Soon after the video Blind Type was snatched up by Google, and naturally we all hoped that meant we would see Blind Type in Android. Although Google never mentioned Blind Type when showing off the new ICS... Read more » Android 4.0 Keyboard Review [Video]
The Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich keyboard is available for free in the Android market. Thankfully the always resourceful Android community has come through once again and provided the much improved Ice Cream Sandwich keyboard to download. The keyboard will work on any device running Android 2.2 and above; no... Read more » Keyboard Showdown: Epic, DROID 2, G2
I happen to be sitting on the current line up of QWERTY-packin' Android flagships at the moment, and thought now would be a good time to go over those keyboards and consider the pros and cons of each. Which keys feature the best separation? Which sliding mechanism feels the nicest? How about the keys themselves? How do they feel? Below is a video addressing all of... Read more » Swype on Android
For the unfamiliar, Swype is a new method of typing that allows a user to simply drag their finger from one letter to the next in order to spell out a word. Noah from PhoneDog went through the tutorial on video using Samsung's WinMo-powered Omnia II. Here, we see MobileCrunch's Greg Kumparak running a beta copy of the Android Swype on an HTC Eris. I wasn't too... Read more » Swype: learning to type all over again?
Maybe I went a bit far with the title, but that's what I think whenever a "revolutionary" new method of inputing text comes along. The first time I encountered handwriting recognition was when I purchased an orange handspring visor. I tried to learn the chicken scratch equivalents for each letter, but decided in the end that it was much quicker to simply type with my... Read more »
