The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 is now receiving its Jelly Bean update. While it is only 4.1.1, it’s still a significant upgrade over ICS. With Jelly Bean, you get Google Now (an app I find myself using more and more as time goes on), Project Butter, and many other new features and changes. The update should be available tomorrow and will update the phone to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The Samsung Captivate Glide on AT&T was a pretty cool phone when it came out. Nice keyboard, speedy, and TouchWiz 4 over Gingerbread was bordering the high end for the time. The T-Mobile Galaxy S II is getting a new update, though it’s very minor. The new build is LH1 and it stays on 4.0.3 (which is too bad, Samsung’s 4.0.4 builds are a massive improvement). Looks like the Galaxy S II hasn’t been abandoned yet! An update to Android 4.0.4 (from 4.0.3) is rolling out to some areas now. Users in Motherland Russia have reported getting this update over the air, and it is available through Kies. It should be arriving in other areas very soon! DroidDog reported Wednesday that the AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II was able to update to ICS via Kies. However, apparently “technical problems” have caused the Kies ICS update to be pulled and we are awaiting word about when the update will be pushed back out. Only a little while after release, Samsung is already pushing an update to the Galaxy SIII. It’s a very minor bug fixer and is said to improve stability, and it’s good to see Samsung taking care of their flagship. The software version is LF2 and is available through Kies if you have the UK unlocked model. It’ll soon be available to others as well…. Read more
