A lot of devices had local search removed in updates to prevent lawsuits by Apple, but (in my opinion) this wasn’t a big usability issue and could easily be worked around. The T-Mobile Galaxy S II is getting a new update, though it’s very minor. The new build is LH1 and it stays on 4.0.3 (which is too bad, Samsung’s 4.0.4 builds are a massive improvement). Looks like the Galaxy S II hasn’t been abandoned yet! An update to Android 4.0.4 (from 4.0.3) is rolling out to some areas now. Users in Motherland Russia have reported getting this update over the air, and it is available through Kies. It should be arriving in other areas very soon!
