Sony Ericsson still phasing out their Sync service
If you own a Sony Ericsson device, then you may or may not have been using the company's Sync service to back up all of your contacts. If you are someone that chooses to go with Sony Ericsson's variant, then you already know that the manufacturer is getting rid of the service altogether, and here's a friendly reminder from the company to make sure that you back up... A new leak has shown the specs for what appears to be Sony's next flagship smartphone. Rumored to feature a 4.55" screen with a full HD resolution of 1280 x 720, it also has a high-end feature set including a 1.4 or 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 13 megapixel camera, 720p HD video recording, and 4G LTE. None of the specs are confirmed, so take them with a grain of salt.... Read more » Sony Ericsson confirms that updates to Ice Cream Sandwich will start in late March or early April
We aren't sure why the phone manufacturers have decided to be so open with their update schedule for Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, but we love the transparency we're getting. Sony Ericsson isn't any different this time around, as the company has already confirmed which devices (with a supposed growing list) will be getting the much-anticipated update, but now they... With the release of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, we are seeing a very different perspective from manufacturers out there. Unlike past updates, the people behind our favorite phones are not keeping much in the shadows, and instead focusing on Android 4.0 and how it will be updated to devices. Sony Ericsson has taken a different path, and actually released an Alpha... Read more » Sony Ericsson Nypon may be the smaller variant of the Nozomi
Sony Ericsson is one of those companies that loves to launch a phone, and then launch a smaller version of the same phone. It's a great tactic, though, as some people out there just don't like the bigger display or thicker frame. So offering the same high-end phone, but with smaller proportions makes sense. And that is apparently what we're looking at here with the... Read more » Sony Ericsson Nozomi images leaked again
At this point, Sony Ericsson shouldn't assume that people aren't expecting to get their hands on the Nozomi, or XPERIA Arc HD, soon. Considering how many times we've seen this device leak its way onto the Internet, we wouldn't be surprised to hear an official announcement from the manufacturer. And considering that this will probably the last high-end smartphone from... Read more » Sony Ericsson Xperia Play comes to CSpire
Paging all Sony fanboys. Please locate your party at CSpire. Though it has certainly been around the block, the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play is by no means done with its North American tour. The little gaming smartphone that could has just come to CSpire for the bargain price of $50 on contract (after a $50 rebate). The phone hasn't undergone any changes. For those... Read more » Sony will drop the Ericsson branding from products by mid-2012
Back at the tail-end of October, we told you about Sony buying out Ericsson's share of the mobile platform partnership. Sony bought Ericsson's share for a total of €1.05 billion, and the reason for the whole thing? So Sony could better fold its smartphone line-up into the big cozy blanket of other products, like gaming consoles, PCs and tablets. It's been... The Sony Ericsson Nozomi has been making relatively small waves on blogs in this quaint community, but all that may be about to change. It's starting to look like the entertainment giant's first dual-core phone will indeed be the Nozomi. That information of course, came from a bit of sleuthing involving a leaked picture. So what exactly is in this beautiful shell?... Read more » Sony Ericsson XPERIA handsets should start receiving Ice Cream Sandwich in March
When Sony Ericsson made their statement regarding Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich updates, it wasn't all that surprising to learn that the company would be focusing on their XPERIA-branded high-end devices, but unfortunately the company didn't provide any specific dates as to when the 4.0 update would be landing on the phones. That has changed, kind of, thanks to... Read more »
