Sprint and HTC Giving Away Official TPU Cases Along with the EVO 4G LTE and a ‘Sorry’ Letter
At this point in Android's life cycle, "legacy" problems and updates are still a real real sore spot for many users. I want to take a second to reiterate something that I know tends to slip from our minds. Phones. Don't. Live. Forever. That's all there is to it. I'm sure most manufacturers would love to push upgrades and new features at every chance they get. The... Read more »
Don't get too excited, Devour owners. Verizon is not bumping your firmware version with the "CALAND_X_o1.15.08P" over the air update. The software upgrade will improve performance and take care of some bugs though. Check out the installation instructions and a full list of changes over at VZW's information page. Here is an excerpt: Enhancements: Device... Read more »
For those running non-hacked devices (a shrinking majority of our readers), updates are a topic of intense debate, anticipation, and frequently, frustration. From reportedly faulty Droid updates to fan pleasers like the recent Cliq fixer to the curiosity about pushing rooted Moments ahead of the curve, it's clear that you all want information on the latest and... Hey there, Cliq owners. I know you're hoping for a major upgrade (as in firmware), but all I can offer you is a bundle of fixes and enhancements, primarily aimed at the battery, touch screen performance (YAY!) and Bluetooth. Hey, it's better than nothing, right? You can check out the full details of the update over at Moto's official support page, but some of the... Read more »
I think this will be my last Droid 2.1 update post. There have been so many false starts; so many bad rumors, that I just don't think it's worth mentioning after today. How many times have we read that this thing was just around the corner now? Ugh. It will come when it comes. Looks like a serious bug - possibly a security flaw - has the update, which was supposed to... Read more »
We've heard this several times now, if not a dozen, but it appears that the 2.1 update for Droid will finally, actually, begin to roll out Thursday. I'm not going to bother linking to all the false reports we've seen recently. No one needs to relive the nightmare. Android Central has a snap of an internal system that indicates the date, and we have an official... Read more »
By far, the number one question I get about Android devices is, "when will my xxx get the x.x update?" And while I still don't have information more specific than quarter on the most anticipated updates that I do know about, I can allay your 2.1 envy, if you have it, that is. Taylor Wimberly of Android and Me is reporting that all US Androids will receive the update... Read more »
It's been just over a month since Sprint and Samsung issued a standard maintenance fix for the Samsung Moment, but apparently the companies figured there were still some people out there who hadn't gone into a store and finished the deed. Thankfully, they've gone ahead and made it a bit easier for those who were waiting for another option. No, this isn't technically... Read more »
You're waiting for the update to 2.1, we know, but apparently Motorola wants to rub it in your face that you can't have it yet. They're planning on pushing out an update this week that is specifically designed to address lingering issues with the touchscreen, battery life, and GPS. According to Motorola: "CLIQ users: an update is coming this week with enhancements... Read more »
Now, Motorola might have slipped up when they told DROID users that their coveted update to Android 2.1 would start rolling out to devices this week, but we're not trying to point any fingers here. Even if, after the announcement, details started pouring out regarding what DROID users would (and wouldn't) be getting with the update, we'll go ahead and give them the... Read more »
