most probably gettin a hero in November, just wondering what people feel about the ones they have and are using? is it worth rooting? any specific problems you have come across? would be nice to hear what you all think
Ever since the update the Hero has been perfect. I only rooted so i could install the update. Love the device, my fav

how much has it improved it? i know about the speed, anything else changed? been looking at alot of info on rooting and cant really see a whole lot of reason to do it on a hero. stuff like blue tooth file transfer isnt important for me and no need to store apps on a sd card because of the heros specs.
btw as a quick question have you found any problems with it or anything you wanted to do but cannot? cheers (Y)
with modaco's version of the official release you can store apps to sd, so thats a plus. all my other changes are listed here, i havent updated them in a while, maybe i should http://droiddog.com/forums/showthread.php?t=80
*I couldnt ask for anything really more out of this update, it cured all

Hi there!
I'm trying to decide if I should buy an unlocked Hero (the European one) and take my chances with EDGE on AT&T (which I think is decent in my area...though maybe that's only with 3G...) or to switch to Sprint and get the American version. Only problem is that Sprint is notoriously terrible in my area (Amish country PA). Any thoughts? Advice?

Do you need to buy a phone right away? Or can you wait? I would wait a few months to see what comes out. Maybe AT&T will get some android love. Or the rumor about Verizon getting two HTC Andriod devices in the 4th quarter.

Well, my preference is sooner rather than later. My current phone's screen died but it still receives and makes call. Battery isn't so hot either, and it sucks not getting textsand trying to navigate. I could probably wait until the October Hero release or maybe a bit later in October, but I'm not sure Sprint's coverage in my area is worth it. As much as I love the phone, it needs to work where I live. November is definitely too late though. I'll take any advice you all have to give!

I don't know too much about American providers, but I absolutely love the HTC Hero.
