Hi, hi.

I'm the proud owner of an HTC Magic (unlocked, unbranded, international version, AT&T network, 32A, blah, blah bliggety), and I've been having several issues trying to root/upgrade the ROM.

It's almost as if my phone is impervious to any and all acts of customization.
I went to HTC's homepage to have a go at the Rom Upgrade. I entered my S/N, and it said that my device was not eligible, or something to that effect.

I tried the rooting process as described at the unlockr, and I kept getting the same error message: "could not run command"

I would love to have the Sense UI, but it seems like there are no more options for me.

If I could get some answers/theories as to why these things have happened, or how I could go about getting the update, I'd much appreciate it.

Wow. So many responses...
I'm wondering if my firmware might be patched??
Is there a way around this, or no?
