Help with text tones please!

Hello everyone! I was justin wondering if there was anyway to use a custome tone for when you get a text instead of the plain ones that came with the droid! thanks :D

You can use Ringdroid to cut up MP3s and save them as ringtones

Also, you can drop almost any kind of audio file into the following folder(s) (via USB connection)
/sdcard/alarms
/sdcard/notifications
/sdcard/ringtones

Each folder is context specific. "Notifications" are for SMS, MMS, and other app notifications. If you want to access the same sound as a ringtone AND a notification, you have you put it in both folders.

hey thanks but when I plug my droid up to my labtop. I can see the files on my SD but im not seeing the ones you have listed. ??

I really like Mabilo from the Android market. It's free and there are tons of SFX and etc. to set as notification tones.

That's probably because you've never installed an app that adds custom tones to your phone.

You can create the folders on your SD card just like you'd create folders on your computer. (usually: right-click>new folder)

You can also use an app, like Astro, to browse, created, edit, copy, paste folders and files right on your phone.
