Here we go. It works best with all google programs although using flickr worked too but I will give the easiest I found.
1. Turn on the camera and then hit menu and select settings and check the box that says store location in pictures. Take your picture.
So your now geotagging pictures. Not even close.
2. Upload your pictures to Picasa(app, email, usb) on your computer. Has to be computer because Google Earth 5.0(free download and way cool program) is what translates the info on the picture and actually geotags it.
3. In Picasa, select the picture you took. Then go Tools < Geotag < Geo Tag with Google Earth. Google Earth will load with the picture.
4. Google Earth will zero in on the location. At this point you have a chance to click on the positioning marker and move it around to be exact. Select Geotag. Then Done.
5. Picture is saved and updated automatically in Picasa.
6. When you close out of Google Earth you will be prompted to Save in Temporary Places. Yes if you want Google earth to remember the location, No if you don't need it remembered.
7. Now when you go to Picasa there will be a compass in the right corner of the picture. If you right click on the picture and select properties, it gives you date, time, lat, long, and more.
Very easy with lots of pictures at once, the prompt window in google earth lets you scroll through pictures to geotag and move to the next picture. Doing it one picture at a time seems too labor intensive for me.

Update: I was trying to geotag photos today and Snap Photo has its own settings and you must select store the location for that app as well.
